摘要

According to I Ching, the lake resting on the earth is a gathering place for all the water. It is also a place of rest and healing. Wetland is a low land which receives water and gets inundated regularly. Among all resources in an ecosystem, wetlands are recognized as a valuable, yet rapidly diminishing ecological resource. The loss of wetlands has been dramatic in the United States. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service estimates that approximately 45,000 km~2 of the U.S. wetlands have been destroyed in the past two centuries. The importance of wetlands in the ecosystem and their physical characteristics have only begun to be understood during the past two decades. Besides providing habitat to fish and wildlife, wetlands also play an important role as the buffer zone between land and
