Through listening studies analysis procedures and objective parameters have been identified that provide consistent high correlation for both the low and high frequency components of door shut noise quality. With these objective tools it has been possible to quickly measure and identify the door shut components that lead to an improved door shut noise quality.Through further parametric studies of these mechanisms, coupled with the objective tools, it will be possible to define objective targets and vehicle design criteria for door shut noise quality.
