Evaluation of Groundwater Quality in a Coal Waste and Ash Disposal Site, RS, Brazil

摘要

This paper aims to detect the groundwater pollution plume in a coal waste and ash disposal site with the application of eletromagnetic technique EM 34-3 and groundwater monitoring. It was seen that the higher anomalous electrical conductivity values and ions content are placed inside the disposal site with the most significative contamination situated in the phreatic aquifer. Besides, it was verified an incipient pollution plume in the direction of groundwater flow (to SW).
