The objective of production planning in flexible manufacting system is to develop and acceptable cost effective and feasible plan over the planning horizon. It is a complex problem and typically gives rise to several hierarchical subproblems that are solved sequentially or simultaneously. Loading is one of the planning subproblem to be solved and involves tool and operation allocation.
