Manufacturing excution system: manufacturing process improvement through plant-wide visibility with MES

The growing adoption of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) has led to improved metrics regariing throughput in the factory, but additionally, manfuacturers are increasingly learning the value of the information MES systems gather and synthesize. The information associated with the adding of value in the manufacturing process enables manufacturers to improve every aspect of their factory operations, form product quality, to best proactices, to supply chain optimization. MES systems provide the means to obtain real time and accurate data on every process step from dispatching to packaging. This information can be used locally for real-time process improvement or distributed to external systems for visibility into events on the factory floor.
