Safety developments for control of rail/highway grade crossings

摘要

Because of the horrendous results of rail/highway grade crossing accidents, there is an urgent need to improve safety at such locations by the introduction of improved instrumentation. This paper discusses a proposed systems development. and the application of instruments to be used. Anticipated results are presented whereby lives and property damage will be saved and, at the same time, delays to both road and rail transportation will be reduced.
