NETWORK OBJECT SYSTEMS EXPAND TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES

Telecommunications service providers find their service delivery systems to be lagging behind the capabilities offered by the transport and switching technology. Rapid servicedeployment capability is a critical need of every telecommunication service provider to stay competitive. In order to achieve the rapid service deployment capability for Broadband and Intelligent Network services, the service providers are being helped by efforts made by Standard bodies and Consortia in the areas of Intelligent Networks, Service Management, and Systems architecture. However, the standards and guidelines need to be validated through prototyping. The system related standards from these organizations include information models and description of objects. A description of one prototyping effort is discussed.
