Ultrafine copper powders prepared by chemical reduction, with mean diameters of about 50 nm and 1 μ m were treated with a phosphating solution. This phosphating greatly improved the powders' thermal stability, raising their temperature in air by about 150 °C to 250 °C. The phosphating mechanism of copper powders was also discussed in this paper.
