A study of defects in Argyle coloured diamonds

Argyle diamonds are notable for their inhomogeneity of impurity content and the evidence they show of plastic deformation, together with unusual body colours, especially pink. A range of optical, cathodoluminescence (CL) and EM microscopic techniques was used to look for correlations between microscopic defects and macroscopic colours.
