The monitoring of water uptake in plants is becoming increasingly important. The performance of a novel transmissometer operating at 94 GHz is evaluated for measuring leaf water content. The instrument is suitable for non-invasive, continuous monitoring of water uptake and translocation from individual leaves at periods of water stress.
