摘要

Several studies have clearly demonstrated the important role of the process zone in controlling the kinetics of crack growth and trajectory. The stages of the slow crack growth are first the development of the process zone from some stress concentration, the initiation of cracking within the process zone, then a series of coupled process zone and crack advances. This paper presents the studies on the effect of UV radiation on the fatigue behavior of the poly(ethylene-co-carbon monoxide), ECO, as an attempt to understand the role of molecular structure on the various stages of the fracture process.
