Anflex - computational system for flexible and rigid riser analysis

The ANFLEX system, that has been developed by Petrobras with the cooperation of COPPE/UFRJ since 1990, has been used as a computational tool for marine riser and anchor line analysis and design in several projects for the Campos Basin. This application of the system in project activities, in addition to recent research activities, have lead to several enhancements and new features that resulted in the current version (3.0) of the system. This work describes the main features of this version; theoretical aspects are briefly commented and a couple of application examples are used to demonstrate the main capabilities of the system. Future trends for this numerical analysis package at Petrobras are also discussed.
