Some aspects of the dynamic behavior of a tanker moored by eight combined chain/wire lines in south offshore Brazzil are presented. This peculiar system is to work as an F.S.O. (Floating Sorage and Offloading) ship of 28,000 dwt and the exportation of oil is done by tankers in tandem. This configuration is to be a temporary system, that wil stay there for no more than two years, and it is acceptable to be disconnected when operational conditions are exceeded. The objective of such configuration was to minimize the cost figures and to test the possibility of multi-point mooring of ships for particular locations.
