Detection and location of damages in offshore platforms: an application of some methods using eigenvectors

摘要

The present paper reports on some important preiminary developments using an experimental modal analysis technique applied to small scale models in order to identify tubular joint damage which very often occurs in offshore framed structures. In order to evaluate the performance of some damage detection/location methods using mode shapes, the methods were applied on a small scale hydroelastic model of a fixed platform.
