The study of separated rare earth with a new mixer settler extractor, invented and designed by the author, is reported in this paper. Two times flow rate experiments were made by six stage the extractor using same countercurrent extraction parameters with HEH (EHP)-kerosene, the results of which are all in coincidence with the values by funnel cascade experiment using same extraction parameters as the extractor experiment. Hence total stage efficiency of the two experiments are all close to 100%. Their raffinates are all high purity La_2O_3. The experiments have shown that this new extractor can increase considerably the through-put capacity per unit volume, and reduce noticeably the hold-up capacity and the ground area occupied by extractor, and control more stably two phases flowing between stages.
