In this paper the principal features of a cheap high-flux concentrator manufactured employing commom-use materials but able to reach almost half of the thermodynamic limit by means of three optic stages, consisting of a paraboloidal dish, a conical mirror and a3-D CPC are presented. The preliminary results from a first prototype produced a net concentration of approximately 30 600 suns, but with some improvements like the employment of a new mirror on the paraboloidal dish, a value of 37 630 was reached, this value falls short to the expected goal of 40 000 suns.
