摘要

We show that Surface Force measurements - which are a key experiment in the study of surface properties - can be conveniently performed on glass surfaces. To that purpose, we use a capacitive displacement sensor, whereby any kind of sample can be studied, in contrast with the usual interferometric device. The technique has been applied to Pyrex surfaces in aqueous solution, where we have evidenced an unusual long range attraction, and to silica, where the adhesive properties in dry air have been studied.
