Channel utilization in multilevel optical networks

摘要

Analytical expressions for the channel efficiency and the throughput of a particular Multilevel Optical NETwork are presented and applied to a variety of virtual topologies. The main problems related to a correct matching of the constituting subnetworks are highlighted, showing, under the hypothesis of uniform traffic distribution, that an optimum exploitation of the available resources is possible as well as advisable.
