EXPERIMENTS ON LIGHT WEIGHT UNFIRED INSULATION PRODUCT WITH WASTE SLAG AND WASTE ACID AS BINDER

At present, light weight insulation products include such types as clay insulation, aluminous insulation, diatomite insulation, perlite insulation, hollow beads insulation and so on. Most types of light weight insulation products are produced with aluminum phosphate as binder although the production processes are different from each other. Aluminum phosphate belongs to binder of heac-hardening type. When heated to higher than 500°C, it dehydrates, solidifies and condenses (including contraction of gel and shrinkage from giving off crystalline water and free moisture ) to gain strength. For this reason, all insulation products need burning to gain the required strength.
