The purpose of this review is to give you an idea of the procedures followed at a crash scene by Fire personnel performing an extrication to achieve patient access for paramedics and ambulance personnel. As reconstructionists , we do not want to confuse the witness marks made by extrication heavy hydraulic tools (ie.: the "jaws of life") and other equipment used by the fire department to affect extrication at a crash scene, (air chisels, pry bars, saws, etc) with crash induced marks.
