An ordinary problem in production of dolomite refractory bricks is the hydration of doloma which leads to a deterioration of brick structure and to a decrease of its green strength. The hydration depends on the environment, brick storage conditions and productive process parameters. Therefore it is important to find alternatives to retard the hydration such as the use of suitable binders that help to protect the doloma.
