摘要

Carbon nanotubes are promising in improving the thermal shock resistance of carbon containing refractories. The influence of carbon nanotubes on the mechanical properties of A1_2O_3-C refractories has been investigated in various combinations with Al, Si or SiO_2, and the microstructures of the samples were observed by scanning electron microscope. It reveals, that the Al_2O_3-C refractories with combination additives of Al, Si, SiO_2 and CNTs can achieve much better mechanical and thermal properties compared to combination of metallic additives and CNTs, due to the formation of honeycomb structure and nano-size whiskers in the present of microsilica fume and CNTs.
