摘要

A new 5-MW floating offshore wind turbine moored by a spring-tensionedlegrnwas proposed for installation in 50m water depth. Its substructure is arnplatform of the inverted conical cylinder type with massive ballast weightrnplate at the bottom. The 1:128 scale model was built with 3 differentrnappendage types for the preliminary engineering development. The modelrntests in regular waves were carried out to estimate motion characteristics ofrnthis platform in the 2D tank of the University of Ulsan. The motions of thernplatform with different appendages were measured respectively and thernRAOs were compared. The proposed floating offshore wind turbinernshowed a good stability and small amplitude motion responses in waves.
