The permanently rising need in donor organs for transplantation is the impulse to develop new and better storage and preservation methods. Those should be used to make organs available to a bigger list of patients. In this paper an alternative storage method is presented which can also be used in combination with a standard preservation. The evaluation of our organ storage technique is based on experimental methods. We realised a pressure distribution analysis which proves a significant decrease of the reaction force while the organ is bedded in a floating storage. Furthermore, the problems of cold-spots in using in-ice-storage and the floating storage are discussed and result verification is prepared on the basis of histological analysis.
