Several configurations of a source for simultaneous secondary calibration of microphones have been simulated and measured experimentally. It is shown that a nose plug mounted in a calibration source can reduce positional uncertainty in. In particular, an ellipsoidal nose plug of certain dimensions produces the best results. Measurements provide verification of the numerical model of the calibration source and support the conclusions.
