The method involves recording total sound signals using a microphone of a microphone arrangement. A reference signal (RFS) is recorded and is linked with a reference sound signal. A transfer function between the reference signal and a microphone signal is determined. Reference sound signal portions are eliminated from the microphone signals. The portions are derived from the reference signal under application of the function. An independent claim is also included for a device for eliminating the reference sound signal portion of a reference sound source.
