The omnidirectional image sensor, we call Hyper Omni-vision, can observe a 360 degree field of view and can have its image transformed to perspective images easily. However, it has an intrinsical problem where the resolution is lower than an ordinary video camera in the same field of view, because of its mechanism. We propose hi-resolution method accommodated to the omnidirectional sensor based on edge information such as smoothness and gradient.
