The Upper Critical Field of the Chevrel Phase Superconductor Tin-Molybdenum-Sulphide Doped with Europium

We have investigated the effect of doping tin-molybdenum-sulphide with the magnetic ion europium, to improve the critical parameters and the flux pinning in this material. Samples were prepared at high temperatures and pressures. Calorimetric, resistive and susceptibility data are presented. Upper critical field values of 36 T for the undoped sample and up to approx 50 T for the doped sampels have been found and are discussed in termso f improved intrinsic properties.
