Results of Large Scale model tests on wave overtopping on a high mound composite type breakwater are presented and discussed. The tests were performed in the Large. Wave Flume, Hannover, Germany. The influence of different types of superstructures including splash reducers was investigated with respect to the reduction of the average overtopping rate (q), the maximum overtopping rate (q_max) and the number of overtopping waves (N_oW). It is shown that a permeable front wall with a dissipation chamber reduces the overtopping quantities (q, q_max, N_oW) considerably.
