This paper presents effects of leading edge stabilizer on the aerodynamic stability of a typical box girder section of cable-stayed bridges. Two-dimensional wind tunnel tests were performed for the bridge section with and without leading edge stabilizers. Based on the experimental results, the effectiveness of leading edge stabilizer plate was confirmed for both the vortex excitation and torsional flutter. Thus, it can be said that the leading edge stabilizer is one of the ssueful countermeasures to improve the aerodynamic stability of cable-stayed bridges.
