This paper investigates aerodynamic countermeasures using 2-edge girder sections for a cable-stayed bridge. Wind tunnel tests were conducted to confirm the performance of the new countermeasures. Additional structural counter-measures based on increasing the rigidity of the bridge were also investigated. This study concluded that the addition of a horizontal member at the top of the tower is the most effective method for increasing the flutter onset velocity. These aerodynamic countermeasures were also found to be economical.
