The comfortability of riders who drive on expressway at high speed depends on the evenness of pavement. So the evenness is one of the important objectives for quality control during pavement construction of the expressway projects. This paper presents our experience with regard to management of pavement construction of Widening Work of Nanchang to Jiujiang Expressway Project in Jiangxi Province of China. The paper describes from beginning with the floating paving work principle of paver, how the paving operation affect the evenness of bituminous pavement and our opinion how the paving operation can better be done as a reference for those undertaking the same paving work.
