A multi-level and comprehensive evaluation method is used to analyse the stability of open-cut slope and determine its rational angle. The appraisal indexes for the evaluation include five main factors closely concerned with the slope stability which are rock strength, elastic wave velocity of rocks, slope's height, annual precipitation and characteristics of rock inner structure. The relationship between the slope's stability and angle can be expressed by a simple equation, which is much practical for a design purpose.
