CCIR PROPAGATION STUDIES RELEVANT TO WARC-ORB 88

Administrations are expected to meet in August under the auspices of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) World Administrative Radio Conference - WARC ORB 88 - to establish a framework for equitable access to satellites in the geostationary satellite orbit (GSO).The technical bases for the procedures and planning have been developed within the CCIR from contributions by, and meetings between the member countries.Underpinning the technical bases are the propagation studies and prediction procedures developed by and agreed between those countries contributing to CCIR Study Group 5 and its Interim Working Parties, and in particular IWP 5/2.This paper summarises the main propagation studies and reference reports which are relevant to ORB 88.
