A sulfur recovery process recovers sulfur from hydrogen sulfide removed from natural gas. Part of the hydrogen sulfide is oxidized to sulfur dioxide. The reaction of sulfur dioxide with hydrogen sulfide, provides liquid sulfur and water.In a sulfur recovery process there should be twice as much H_2S as there is SO_2 for complete reaction. If the two to one ratio is not maintained, the operation is not efficient. Changes in the H_2S concentration in the acid gas makes chromatograph analysis and control most desir-able.
