Ray tracing is the key step for the geometrical theory of diffraction to be applied in solving the problems of high-frequency electromagnetic scattering and radiation. The dynamic programming method is introduced in the paper and the algorithm model for ray tracing on any convex surface is developed by the method. The algorithm model is verified by tracing the rays on an infinite cylinder. It also can be applied to trace the rays on hybrid convex surfaces with inhomogeneous conductivity, and an example is given.
