摘要

For important basic structures of satellites and aircraft, such as polyhedral convex bodies and circular or elliptical cylinders, the ray tracing is treated in detail. Ray tracing for composite structures is described for the example of an aircraft which is approximated by an elliptical cylinder with flat plates as wings. The programs used for the computation of antennas on complicated structures are discussed. The field of application and the accuracy of the geometrical theory of diffraction is demonstrated with numerous computed examples.
