In 1976, President Carter declared war, or at least called the energy crisis "the moral equivalent of war". Before the end of his administration, and in the 9 years ensuing, this war has evaporated. Yet we face even more serious energy and energy-connected environmentall and economic crisis. Why has a yawn replaced high resolve, when we are ever more dependent on energy? The H-bomb is no longer ticking. The energy economics and environmeent bomb is ticking. What are the ways oout of this morass of the most serious proporations before we are overtaken by it?
