Generation adequacy in a deregulating environment. A generating company's perspective

As the US electric utility industry moved into the 1990s, forces in the marketplace as well as State and Federal government began a process to regulate the industry. As we enter the new millennium, the process is well underway but has a long way to go to reach a state where the industry is fully deregulated. Adequacy has and always will be a significant issue of concern to all stakeholders.
