We report on the possibility of a fiber amplifier at 1.3 and 1.55 /spl mu/m dual wavelength using the Pr/sup 3+/ and Er/sup 3+/ co-doped sulfide glasses. In fact, the energy transfer phenomenon in the Er/sup 3+/ and Pr/sup 3+/ co-doping system has been previously researched in order to achieve a cw-laser at 2.7/spl mu/m. Then, we also investigate for the additive enhancement of the 1.3 /spl mu/m amplifying efficiency due to the dopant energy transfer.
