Reviews the position-sensitive thermal neutron detector (PDS). The latter being based in gas-discharge counters or on scintillators doesn't achieve high efficiency, and good positional and temporal resolution at the same time. PSD using micro-channel plates and foil converter possesses good positional (dX>0.1 mm) and temporal (dT>10 ns) resolution, but low efficiency (Ed>2% for Li converter). The micro-channel converter (MCC) for detection of thermal neutrons and their actions is discussed. The computer model of conversion thermal neutrons with Li-converter is studied with Monte-Carlo method and the results are given. It is now possible to compare the predicted results with experimental measurements.
