SPC application in the chemical industry

The paper outlines issues that arise in applying SPC to the continuous processes of the chemical industry, including: process complexity, process variability; and product analysis. The paper also considers activities necessary for implementing SPC and the benefits of introducing SPC in chemical processes, particularly the processes at ICI Chemicals and Polymers.
