Scientific visualization environments for the computational sciences

摘要

The process of numerically simulating physical phenomena is described, and the role of visualization within that process is detailed. The major steps a scientist or engineer performs while analyzing the results of a simulation-deriving data forms, filtering data into geometric primitives, image creation, and image playback-are discussed, and the graphics requirements unique to the computational sciences are presented.
