Preliminary research on automatic creation of the functional part product model of injection mold

As one class of near net shape forming methods, the injection mold is a key tool to produce plastic parts of the household appliances, automobile, aerospace and other industrial products. Due to the models of many industrial products bein changed quickly, the number of the needed molds become very large, also, the needed molds should have specific properties of high-precision, short-turn and low-cost. Traditional heuristic method depended mainly on experience and general computer-aided design tools are no longer meet the requirement of the present mold manufacturing technology. It is an urgent need to use new techniques and new idea to build a proper injection mold design and manufacturing system.
