Abstract: We report measurements of atmospheric peroxy radicals which were made at two rural sites in the eastern United States using the technique of chemical amplification followed by luminol chemiluminescence detection. Several improvements which have been made to the instrumental systems since earlier reports are discussed. Also reported is a new field calibration procedure which allows a critical evaluation of the instrumental stability and provides directions for design changes to improve its performance.!
