This study aims at developing a methodology for evaluating the potential use of structural polymeric composites in structural engineering applications. This study concentrate on applications of polymers composites in construction, repair,a nd rehabilitation of infrastructures such as higheway bridges. This model offers the industry, for the first time, a customized decision-making tool to facilitate decision making process by upper-level managers to encourage them to consider polymer composites as an efficient alternative. The main function of the proposed model is to assist decision makers, during project planning and during the preliminary structural design phases, in determining the viability and efficiency of using composites. This model is a multi-objective systematic approach based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). It is capable of analyzing numerous objectives and of providing an optimal selection of materials based on the needs of a specific project or application. A case study dealing with composites bridge repair system is presented to illustrate the validity of the model.
