Who shall I share my knowledge with? A receiver perspective of knowledge sharing behavior

摘要

The current study examines the knowledge sharing phenomenon from a receiver perspective. The results of a scenario experimental study reveals that receivers' characteristics play different roles under different situations (responsive knowledge sharing and proactive knowledge sharing). For the responsive knowledge sharing, receivers' characteristics are not important factors affecting the sharer's willingness to share. However, for proactive knowledge sharing, receivers' professional ability and personal relationship with the sharer significantly affect the sharer's decision. Practical implications are discussed at the end of the paper.
