Numerical Modeling of Reinforcement Corrosion –Actual Results from the EFC Working Group

In May 2001 a new EFC Working Group on Numerical Modelling of ReinforcementrnCorrosion has been set up chaired by both authors. The principal aim of this Task Grouprnwas to achieve an international support for a practical numerical approach to estimaterncorrosion rates of reinforcing steel in concrete and to elaborate the possibilities andrnproblems of such calculations.rnThe group consists of seven active participants of altogether six different countries.rnSeveral meetings have been held and several promising results have been obtained sornfar. It is planned to publish the results of this group in the EFC Series by the end ofrn2004.rnThe actual status of the work and the most interesting results of the Working Group willrnbe presented and discussed.
