摘要

Some introductory work on the corrosion-wear behaviour of nano-structured coatingsrnwill be presented. The ?active wear track? concept will be used to investigate thernmechanism of the corrosion-wear behaviour of the coatings under sliding condition. Inrncorrosive environments, the combined action of wear and corrosion may lead to thernpremature degradation of the coatings, beyond the individual contributions ofrnmechanical wear and corrosion. Since the coatings investigated are made of passive andrnnon-reactive elements, it is expected that the coatings will be corrosion resistance. Onrnthe other hand, due to the porosity in the coatings, some liquid may be trapped and mayrnshow unexpected results. So it will be interesting to analysis the response of therncoatings on different corrosive solutions. Also the depassivation-repassivationrnbehaviour of the coatings in sliding contacts will be reported based on electro-chemicalrnnoise measurements (EN) with microelectrodes developed recently at MTM;rnKULeuven.
