The concentration of solid particles has been monitored in exhaust fumes during the operation of Land Rover engine as part of modern military transport vehicles. The measurements have been carried out at the break station with the engine load of approx. 60 % and the revolutions of approx. 3000 min"1. There were compared the emission factors of particulate matters related to the unit of fuel consumption and the performance of engine consuming the NM-54 diesel oil as well as the NM-54 diesel oil containing the Envirox™ additive. It has been found out that the additive based on the nanoparticles of cerium oxide significantly reduces the concentration of particulate matters in combustion products.
